This photo was taken in 2019, in the eve of my departure from Brazil to Germany. It was also in the eve of the day I sold her to a new (and happy!) owner.
I had just arrived to Brazil in 2011 when I bought it. The choice was half rational and half emotional.
It had a good price: Dafra gave its brand to the original from Sym and assembled it in Brazil, thereby reducing its price.
It was a scooter, with only a few units sold at the time, at least in Salvador, BA. That meant that its worth for the eventual robbers was very low. Its look of cheap motorbike (scooters were underrated in Brazil at that time) helped me always be safe from bandits.
What nobody knew at the time was that this little one would put to shame at the traffic lights all the other motorbikes of similar engine category!!!
Additionally, its big wheels for a scooter made a breeze of going over the speed limiters! Also, the presence of disk brakes contributed significantly to the safety.
The maintenance cost was a joke: in all her presence with me I just used gas, oil, tires and a complete electrical system (very cheap, actually). The tires had a normal wear: driving the little one was really exciting and she would curve like a lady. The electrical system: well, it is normal considering the salty air in Salvador!
When my young daughter reached the age she could be a passenger, for her dismal, I was taking her and picking her up from school in my little Citycom.
Well, isn’t it obvious that I miss the little one?
